spinph DOH reports 82% rise in dengue cases from January to October
MANILA, Philippines — There has been a significant increase in recorded dengue cases from January 1 to October 4 this year compared to the same period in 2023, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
In a statement on Friday, the DOH said 269,467 dengue cases were logged during the said dates this year — an 82 percent increase from the 147,678 cases in the same period last year.

Article continues after this advertisementThe DOH noted that from these cases, 2,856 (1.06 percent) had severe dengue.

The DOH noted that these numbers may still change due to late reporting from some areas.

We encourage everyone to practice preventive measures and seek medical attention at the first sign of dengue symptoms,” said Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, as quoted in the statement.
